Boys! Read Glasslands and The Thursday war. They are rebel elites + a pissed elite who wants revenge. Thats why elites go to requiem. Read the books, books make a little more sense and I think they're awesome histories
Really glad to see the other factions of Elites in Halo 4 and I must say that this armor is pretty cool. I've been wondering though if the Sons of the Crimson Blade might appear in Halo 4 they would really be fun to fight. Can't wait to see more armor of Spartans and Elites.
The armor is the same thing as the Spec Ops one that was revealed [link] If you look at them both they're exactly the same thing. I think in my opinion McFarlene screwed up on the toy here on what rank it is because now fans are confused. To me this isn't a Zealot. Zealots do not look like Reach Spec Ops. Halo Nation and McFarlene are misplacing the Sangheili ranks when they reveal them. Game Informer was the first to reveal the H4 Spec Ops Elite now two sources McFarlene and Halo Nation are misplacing the ranks of Sangheili. I think we should wait until 343 reveals all the Elite ranks.
Cause knowing me who is a Zealot and loves the rank, that is NOT a Zealot H4 Sangheili. Zealots do not look like Spec Ops Reach Elites.
if you ever get a chance to read glasslands..please do it. it explains a lot. my theory behind the explanation for the current elite armors is thus: in the novels timeline the war has ended..it is some months after halo 3 and the sangheili..much like humanity..are learning to recover and continue on..unlike humanity however they are on their own again. without the san 'shyuum (prophets) or unggoy or kig-yar or any of the other covenant species. when the sangheili\elites joined the covenant they became soldiers..and only soldiers..that is all they did. they didn't focus anymore on building and weaponry and tech...that was all done by the prophets..they were in the covenant so long that..as the covenant has now disappeared...they've forgotten how to do all that on their own..so i think this style..this portrayal is the sangheili..coming into their own as a military\technology faring race..it's their first attempt at making their own armor in quite some time.
...i think you are confused. if you go back and read what i said..i explained this is all because the are no longer covenant. why their armor looks the way it does. the sangheili now have to create their own armor. they can't rely on the tech of the prophets anymore to build it for them. so it might look more primitive in nature.
if by that you mean why are they still showing them together with unggoy and kig-yar?.. then the answer is "i don't know". there is no more Covenant as far as I'm aware. We all know it was destroyed in Halo 3. The prophets species as far as we know no longer exist. The sangheili never cared for the other species either. So the ones we see allied with the other former Covenant species I can't explain until the game and the other books to help fill in the holes for now.
you fight them throughout the campaign..so no it's not just basically..because even if the sangheili is part of that rebellious group it doesn't explain why you see an elite walking around later with both grunts and seeing jackals as well. in the books it doesn't ever show them saying we need to reunite the races again. so until we read thursday war, which will provide more insight, we can't just say "oh it's a rebel faction"...more than likely? but still not explained whom and how.
..no. no they don't ALL ally with humanity. unless you've read you won't know. i'm assuming you haven't. some of the sangheili..those that ally with the arbiter are for humanity..but there are also many that oppose still because they do not trust them. i doubt you are going to see any pictures of the "good elites" in this game.
